The Disability & Movement Research Collective, directed by Dr. Andrew M. Colombo-Dougovito, is a community-informed research laboratory dedicated to identifying systemic barriers to well-being and the multiple marginalizations experienced by disabled people and their families throughout their lives. Through the application of disability justice principles and crip theory, the members of this research collective search for transformative solutions to address inequities in access to physical activity and sport.

Dr. Karen Weiller's research involves women/gender issues and media. In conjunction with Dr. Andrew M. Colombo-Dougovito, they have looked at media representation on gender and disability in the 2018 Winter games, and most recently are focusing on NIL and women collegiate athletes using post-feminism as a theory, as well as intersectionality. They are also continuing work centered around athletes and mental health, specifically, Olympic athletes.

Dr. Jerraco Johnson's research is focused on physical activity and health, family health behavior development, and obesity and health disparities.
