All students participating in field experience are required to complete a background check as part of the district's placement process. Your placement is contingent upon successful completion and clearance of this requirement.
Action Required
Please visit your assigned district’s website to complete the background check process.
Each district has its own procedures, so it is critical that you:
- Follow the specific instructions provided by your assigned district. For easier navigation, you can type "student teaching" or "student observer" in
the district search box.
- Complete all required forms and fingerprinting (if applicable).
- Submit any requested documentation promptly.
Important Notes
- Do not delay — background check processing times may vary. Failure to submit the district background check could potentially remove you from
field experience for the Spring 2026 semester.
- Our office will submit the placement request and verification to the district.
- You will not be permitted to begin your field experience until your background check
has been cleared by the district.
- Please do not contact your assigned district directly unless you have been specifically instructed
to do so by our office. If you have any questions, please contact the Clinical Practice
Office, COE-ClinicalPractice@unt.edu.
