Take advantage of your time in the office — make friends with as many faculty, staff,
and fellow students as possible. Talk about your teaching, including your successes
and challenges. Talk about research or articles you've read. Talk about possible
research projects/papers you can collaboratively pursue. Building a strong community
of scholars in our department is the ultimate goal!
