Lydia K. Caldwell Dr. Caldwell is an assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion and Recreation at the University of North Texas. She earned her B.S. in Biology and M.S.E in Exercise Science from the University of Dayton prior to completing her Ph.D. in Kinesiology at The Ohio State University. Dr. Caldwell’s primary research efforts are centered on identifying evidence-based strategies to promote performance readiness and enhance resiliency. Her focus on the importance of appropriate recovery stems from her work with high-performance populations in both the military and athletics. Her research approach involves a broad range of neuromuscular and biochemical techniques to monitor the restoration of physiological and psychological processes. Her most recent work focuses on the use of floatation-restricted environmental stimulation therapy (i.e., float or float therapy) to augment sleep and reduce stress signaling. |
Trey J. Botkin Trey is a PhD student in the Psychosocial Aspects of Sport and Exercise Educational Psychology program at University of North Texas. From Meridian, Idaho, he received his B.S. in Psychology from Grand Canyon University and his M.S. in Kinesiology (focus in Sport Psychology) from UNT. His research interests are related to the effects of relaxation on motor skill performance, cross-cultural differences in training and recovery modalities. |
Marquis E. Jackson Marquis is a second-year graduate student at UNT studying Kinesiology with a focus in exercise physiology. From Houston, Texas, he earned his B.S. in Kinesiology at Prairie View A&M in May of 2020. His research interest is centered on understanding the multifaceted nature of exercise recovery. Marquis will be graduating with his Master’s in Kinesiology in May of 2023. |
Mason D. Millender Mason is a graduate student from Fort Worth, Texas. He holds a B.S. in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from the University of North Texas. Mason is currently pursuing a master's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise physiology. His research interests include recovery optimization through the utilization of floatation restricted environmental stimulation therapy. |
Brooklyn D. Wascom Brooklyn is a graduate student in Kinesiology with a focus in sports psychology. She is from Central, Louisiana and earned her B.A. in psychology and communications at Millsaps College. She is taking steps towards completing her CMPC with the hopes of serving as a sports psychologist for collegiate athletes. |
Natalya C. Allen Natalya is from Sulpher Springs, Texas. She is an undergraduate Kinesiology major on the pre-physical therapy track. She is excited to join the RESTORE team as an undergraduate research assistant and looks forward to gaining exposure to the human performance research process. |
Hailey A. Martinez Hailey is from Garland, Texas. She received her Associates of Science from Dallas College before transferring to UNT on the pre-physical therapy track in the fall of 2021. Her interests in science and health stem from her passion for exercise and rehabilitation. She will be graduating from UNT in May 2023 with a B.S. in Kinesiology. |
Samuel S. Thompson Samuel Thompson is a senior at UNT studying Kinesiology, pre-physical therapy. He is from Garland, Texas, and completed his associates in high school through Dallas County community college dual-credit program. His main scientific interest is exercise physiology and recovery science. He will be graduating from UNT in May 2023 with a B.S. in Kinesiology. |
