R3 logo. Recruitment, Readiness, Retention. Noyce teaching fellowship

R3 STEM is an NSF grant funded program that aims to serve a national need for engineering, mathematics, and science majors/career changers to become grades 6-12 STEM teachers and leaders in high-need schools. R3 STEM prioritizes three main objectives: recruitment, readiness, and retention. Recruitment describes the goal of the program to capture STEM professionals to be teachers and leaders in a high need school district. Readiness refers to the Master of Education in Teaching program that prepares teaching fellows to become educators that effectively engage secondary students in diverse, equitable, and inclusive STEM learning experiences. Finally, retention refers to the four-year supplementary induction program that supports candidates in the duration of their teaching fellowships in community schools.
