Supporting Unique Applied & Innovative Education Research

The Applied Innovation & Research in Education Initiative (AIRE) serves as the hub for community-engaged projects across teacher preparation, educational leadership, counseling, higher education, and educational psychology. The COE Dean's Office recognizes that developing partnerships, securing external funding to support your research, and developing new alternative revenue generating activities can be challenging. In addition to monetary start-up support, the COE Research Support Team will also help you develop:

  • A future external grant proposal
  • A scalable business plan for alternative revenue generation
  • A scalable plan to impact the entire COE, UNT, and/or the DFW region (where applicable)

This award can support a wide range of activities, including: faculty-led research projects, conference/presentation travel associated with a funded project, and student-led research and engagements. These limited grants are designed to complement not replace external funding, so a successful application will note how this initial funding will lead to additional funding and/or alternative revenue generating activities.
