Dr. Ricardo González-Carriedo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Teacher Education and Administration at the University of North Texas. His research centers on the education of bilingual students, with particular emphasis on the professional development of both pre-service and in-service bilingual teachers. He teaches bilingual and ESL education courses in the teacher preparation program, as well as courses at the master’s and doctoral levels.
Dr. González-Carriedo believes that teaching in bilingual education is not merely about fostering language proficiency—it is about affirming identities, bridging cultures, and empowering students to navigate and contribute to a multilingual world.
