Sibling Discount: Families enrolling more than one child receive a 10% discount on each additional sibling's registration. Please contact serc@unt.edu for discount information before submitting payment.

Location, Drop-Off & Parking

• Drop-off and Pick-up Location: Roundabout in front of the UNT Student Union, 1155 Union Circle, Denton, Texas 76203 (No parking required)
• Parking: Parking is available in the Highland Street Parking Garage for $3.75 per hour, max rate of $30 per day. Lost access card cost: $25. The address to the garage is 620 Central Avenue, Denton, Texas, 76201. The garage is located across the street from Matthews Hall, where the camp will take place. 
• Program Location: Matthews Hall, 1300 W. Highland St., Denton, TX 76201

Registration

• Registration opens: August 2026 
• No payment is due at registration.
• Cost: $60 per session (or a one time payment of $400) 
• Refund policy: Refunds can be requested up to one week before the start of the program. Requests after this period are not eligible.
• One Child = One Form: If you’re registering more than one child, please complete one form per child. This helps us keep each child’s information accurate.
• One Payment for All Children: Even though each child needs their own form, you’ll still be able to make one convenient payment for all children at checkout.

Sunscreen Policy

Campers need to bring their own sunscreen. If asked; staff may assist if needed. On some days we walk to the cafeteria and back for lunch which will take approximately 5-10 minutes. Please send your child with spray on sunscreen only.  

Allergies

Please alert us of any peanut allergies, special needs, or accommodations. 

What to Bring
Campers can bring their own lunch, however, lunch will be provided.

Valuables

It is important to only send the essentials to camp with your child. All belongings should be clearly labeled. We cannot be responsible for those items or any other personal items such as toys, hand-held games, cd players, ipod, etc. 

The University of North Texas College of Education is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all summer camp participants. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, all campers are expected to follow the behavior guidelines outlined below. Our program are led by trained college student instructors who are dedicated to supporting student learning and well-being.

Expectations for Participant Behavior
All camp participants are expected to:

• Show Respect - Treat fellow participants, instructors, and counselors with kindness, respect, and courtesy at all times.
• Follow Instructions - Listen attentively and follow directions provided by camp instructors and counselors.
• Engage Appropriately - Participate in activities in a safe, constructive, and cooperative manner.
• Use Appropriate Language and Conduct - Refrain from using inappropriate language, gestures, or behavior that could be disruptive, harmful, or offensive to others.
• Respect Property and Facilities - Use all equipment, materials, and campus spaces responsibly and as directed.
• Maintain Personal Responsibility - Stay within designated areas, arrive on time, and remain with the group unless given permission by staff.

Attendance

• Regular attendance is encouraged but not required. Because each session is designed as an independent learning experience, students may miss a session and still fully participate in future sessions.
• Please notify staff if your child will be late.

Personnel & Safety
All camp staff and students wear easily identifiable name tags.
Camps are led by trained UNT student instructors.

Prohibited Behavior
The following behaviors are not permitted and may result in disciplinary action:

• Bullying, harassment, intimidation, or discrimination of any kind
• Physical aggression or threatening behavior
• Disruptive actions that interfere with camp activities or instruction, including usage of personal devices.
• Damage to university property or the property of others
• Possession of prohibited items or engaging in unsafe activities
• Refusal to comply with instructions from camp staff

Disciplinary Process
Our goal is to support positive behavior while maintaining a safe environment. The following steps may be taken if a participant does not meet behavioral expectations:

1. Verbal Warning – Participant is reminded of expectations and given an opportunity to correct behavior.
2. Parent/Guardian Notification – If behavior continues, parents/guardians may be contacted to discuss concerns.
3. Temporary Removal from Activity – Participant may be removed from a specific activity or group setting.
4. Dismissal from Program – In cases of serious or repeated misconduct, the participant may be dismissed from the camp without a refund.

UNT reserves the right to determine appropriate disciplinary action based on the severity of the behavior.

By enrolling in the UNT College of Education SERC Lab Summer Camp, participants and their parents/guardians acknowledge and agree to abide by this behavior policy.
