Week 1

June 1 – June 5, 2026 | Mars Mission Camp

Students will embark on an exciting simulated mission to Mars! Campers will code robotic rovers to navigate Martian terrain and experience the Red Planet through immersive virtual reality technology. As part of this week’s adventure, we will visit UNT’s Sky Theater to watch Mars: The Ultimate Voyage, a captivating planetarium show that explores what it will take for astronauts to travel to Mars and beyond. This camp integrates STEM concepts in every activity, helping students deepen their understanding of space science, engineering, and technology while building critical thinking and collaboration skills.

RoboCity Quest Camp
RoboCity Quest Camp

Week 2

June 8 – June 12, 2026 | RoboCity Quest Camp

Students will dive into the exciting world of robotics and coding with a focus on autonomous missions using rovers and drones. Campers will explore how robotic vehicles and drones are transforming industries like delivery services, experiencing a hands-on simulation that mirrors their reality. As an education camp, RoboCity Quest integrates STEM content throughout, ensuring students strengthen their coding, engineering, and problem-solving skills while improving their overall STEM knowledge.

Grades 3-5 (must have completed second grade)
Grades 6-8

Camp Schedule

  • Camps run Monday through Friday
  • 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Drop-off starting at 7:30 AM
  • Pick-up required by 3:30 PM
  • Late Fee Policy: Any guardian picking up a child after 3:30 pm will be required to pay a late fee. (3:35 pm - 3:45 pm is $5.00, 3:46 pm - 3:55 pm, is $10.00, After 3:55 pm is $15.00)

Location, Drop-Off & Parking

  • Drop-off and Pick-up Location: Roundabout in front of the UNT Student Union, 1155 Union Circle, Denton, Texas 76203 (No parking required)
  • Parking: Parking is available in the Highland Street Parking Garage for $3.75 per hour, max rate of $30 per day. Lost access card cost: $25. The address to the garage is 620 Central Avenue, Denton, Texas, 76201. The garage is located accross the street from Matthews Hall, where the camp will take place. 
  • Camp Classroom Location: Matthews Hall, 1300 W. Highland St., Denton, TX 76201

Registration

  • Registration opens: March 2026 
  • No payment is due at registration.
  • Tuition Deadline: Camp tuition will be due by April 30, 2026 to secure your spot. If you need to pay after this date, please email serc@unt.edu.
  • Weekly Tuition: $300
  • Tuition includes: Program fee, lunch, supplies, lanyard, and souvenirs.
  • Refund policy: Refunds can only be requested up to four weeks before the start of camp. Requests after this period are not eligible.
  • One Form Covers All Camps: You can use one registration form to sign up your child for one camp or multiple camps—all in a single submission. There’s no need to fill out separate forms for each camp. Just check the camp(s) you want on the form. 
  • One Child = One Form: If you’re registering more than one child, please complete one form per child. This helps us keep each child’s information accurate.
  • One Payment for All Children: Even though each child needs their own form, you’ll still be able to make one convenient payment for all children at checkout.

Sunscreen Policy

Campers need to bring their own sunscreen. If asked; the counselor may assist if needed. On some days we walk to the cafeteria and back for lunch which will take approximately 5-10 minutes. Please send your child with Spray On sunscreen only.  

Allergies

Please alert us of any peanut allergies, special needs, or accommodations. 

What to Bring
Campers can bring their own lunch daily.
Refrigeration and microwaves are available (request at check-in)
Limited vending machines are available, but not guaranteed 
Refillable water bottle

Valuables

It is important to only send the essentials to camp with your child. All belongings should be clearly labeled. We cannot be responsible for those items or any other personal items such as toys, hand-held games, cd players, ipod, etc. 

The University of North Texas (UNT) College of Information is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all summer camp participants. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, all campers are expected to follow the behavior guidelines outlined below. These camps are led by trained college student instructors and counselors who are dedicated to supporting student learning and well-being.

Expectations for Participant Behavior
All camp participants are expected to:

  • Show Respect - Treat fellow participants, instructors, and counselors with kindness, respect, and courtesy at all times.
  • Follow Instructions - Listen attentively and follow directions provided by camp instructors and counselors.
  • Engage Appropriately - Participate in activities in a safe, constructive, and cooperative manner.
  • Use Appropriate Language and Conduct - Refrain from using inappropriate language, gestures, or behavior that could be disruptive, harmful, or offensive to others.
  • Respect Property and Facilities - Use all equipment, materials, and campus spaces responsibly and as directed.
  • Maintain Personal Responsibility - Stay within designated areas, arrive on time, and remain with the group unless given permission by staff.

Attendance

  • Regular attendance is expected for the full experience.
  • Please notify staff if your child will be absent or late.

Personnel & Safety
All camp staff and students wear easily identifiable name tags.
Camps are led by trained UNT student instructors.

Prohibited Behavior
The following behaviors are not permitted and may result in disciplinary action:

  • Bullying, harassment, intimidation, or discrimination of any kind
  • Physical aggression or threatening behavior
  • Disruptive actions that interfere with camp activities or instruction, including usage of personal devices.
  • Damage to university property or the property of others
  • Possession of prohibited items or engaging in unsafe activities
  • Refusal to comply with instructions from camp staff

Disciplinary Process
Our goal is to support positive behavior while maintaining a safe environment. The following steps may be taken if a participant does not meet behavioral expectations:

  1. Verbal Warning – Participant is reminded of expectations and given an opportunity to correct behavior.
  2. Parent/Guardian Notification – If behavior continues, parents/guardians may be contacted to discuss concerns.
  3. Temporary Removal from Activity – Participant may be removed from a specific activity or group setting.
  4. Dismissal from Camp – In cases of serious or repeated misconduct, the participant may be dismissed from the camp without a refund.

UNT reserves the right to determine appropriate disciplinary action based on the severity of the behavior.

Acknowledgment
By enrolling in the UNT College of Information Summer Camp, participants and their parents/guardians acknowledge and agree to abide by this behavior policy.
