The Master of Science in Educational Psychology with a concentration in Human Development and Family Science is designed for students who have completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, human development, or a related field and are interested in human development, family development, and family systems.
Graduates pursue professional roles in education, nonprofit, government, research, and industry settings that support learning and human development across the lifespan, and are prepared for a career in administering/directing programs that serve individuals, children and families.
Students develop marketable skills in applying developmental theory to real-world contexts, evaluating and interpreting research, supporting learners across diverse developmental stages, and communicating developmental principles to inform educational practice and programming. In addition, the program enhances skills centered on understanding organizational and government policies that impact families, as well as cultivating knowledge of current relationships in families through a culturally responsive lens.
The 33-hour degree plan is flexible, allowing you to select four elective courses that best fit your interests and career goals.
